Styles of yoga which hold asana for brief periods
- less than two minutes - stretch and elongate muscles but often do not have a significant effect on the fascia and connective tissue. By focusing on points where either the fascia is over compressing the muscle or a section of muscle is 'locked', we can release problem areas, deepen our asana and find more freedom in our movement generally.
Using a mixture of basic asana and massage balls, we will target common problem areas by applying deep but gentle pressure. Participants will use the massage balls on themselves, allowing as much or as little pressure as is comfortable.

Raph Munro started practicing Yoga fifteen years ago.
A long distance runner, he had been experiencing chronic sciatic pain for years. A chance remark by a movement therapist (you have severe tightening of your hamstrings) led him to try Ashtanga yoga. Within three weeks the persistant pain vanished and he maintained his practice eventually undertaking a David Swenson teacher training course. Raph has taught Ashtanga yoga since coming to Switzerland in 2006, but now spends his time between writing and traveling.
